If there was a £50 note lying on the floor, could you get out of bed to pick it up. If yes, then you are a skivving sissy and should be at your desk or counter or coalmine, whatever.
To be honest, I could have, but it would have been followed immediately by face-planting next to where the note was!

I'm back up now, but my limbs are stiffer than after my last hundred miler (and that was one where I was asking "why did I do that? What's the point of riding that far?")

Don't take any dairy products; the bacteria are lactophilic.
I had a craving for soy custard at one point, but I didn't act on it because I was slipping in and out of sleep. Also sweet and sour prawn balls, which I've not had for ages and I'm pretty sure would have been a bad move.

I think I only ate small bits of crystallised ginger because I thought the sugar might be useful energy and I think someone told me it keeps nausea at bay. Is that just an old wives' tale?

I've had food poisoning often. Twice following duck confit, for example. The worst of it lasts about 12 hours and then I start recovering. If you are still vomiting or whatever, I'd suggest it's time for the doctor. If you are just feeling poorly, eat when you can, low fat, apple is good, dry toast or with jam or marmite. Grilled chicken breast and rice when you feel like a meal.

Thanks for the tips @jefmcg - I can't bring myself to eat rice when feeling sick. The last time I vomited, about 25 years ago, was after eating rice and I still remember the sensation of chewed grains hitting the backs of my teeth!

Yeah, no rice for you. Also rice that's not carefully handled can be quite toxic.

Listen to your body.

I recall having badly cooked (microwaved) rice and being very ill afterward. Not nice.
