I read that the Happy Mondays spent all the advance money they received for one of their LP's on smack.
The record label sent them to Barbados to record the album, because you can't get heroin there. But they all got into crack instead. It got to stage where the management flew out to see them and found Shaun & Bez carrying the studio sofa outside to sell for crack.
