I don't like it either. I use the Metoffice app on my phone nowI don't like the new BBC system. I suppose the %chance of rain is an improvement.

The summary for today says light rain and there's a raindrop image. But none of the individual hourly images has a raindrop and the highest risk of rain seems to be 8% around 10ish.
Surely the summary should be related to what's going on during the day.
I shall have to stick to my tried and tested method of just looking out of the window!

I've heard similar said about Crook Peak for much of North Somerset.I live near Manchester; if I can't see Rivington Pike it's raining. If I can see Rivington Pike, it's about to rain.
Even simpler, http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weat...0<YP=&CITY=&SLP=0&W=0&L=0&ROAD=0&LF=1&SUM=0 and similar regional zooms are strangely free (much of the good stuff on there wants payment) and the front page has a dinky radar animation.I use RainAlarm on my tablet, it shows a moving radar image of any rain that's around and is very good for planning in the short term.
