Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I just heard about the death of a friend I feel I knew for ten years.

The thing is though we never met..He was a poster on a music forum I frequent.

It's weird...I mean on the one hand I knew him, but in reality I never did.

Just feel a bit empty.

It's not that weird. You can make good friends without meeting people.

And news of anothers' death also brings to mind our own mortality...

Double ditto. People become part of our lives in many different ways. Your friend obviously enriched yours and im sure you did to theirs too.:cuppa:

You do mine as i have just looked through you Trans America blog. Total respect and i loved the sign you saw, "Halfway to halfway" oh and the dead rattlesnake, im not a lover of snakes.

It's perfectly normal to feel a connection to someone that you've interacted with for so many years -even if it wasn't in person.
And right to feel sad that they've died.
Do you need a hug?!

yeah I know....but its like ive got no real right to be affected ...I never even bought the guy a beer...sad loss. Hey ho...onwards...
You have every right to be affected,, you were part of his life and he part of yours, just not in the'normal' sense, but nevertheless, you enriched each others lives.

Crikey, I remember as a late teenager, reading all the Sven Hassel books. Ultimately, Porta, one of the central characters was killed...I was gobsmacked, ridiculous really, but I immersed myself in those books.
