Because I am extremely jealous.

Had a great 3 day tour over Easter and found out I actually like hills. Some notables Snowshill, the B4077 climb just after the roundabout when leaving winchcombe and the f. in scary descent into winchcombe (at least on wet and greasy roads on an Easter Sunday). One day we only did a 26 mile ride but it had 3,400 feet of climbing !

I am back in flat old Essex and now have the hump!

I live near the Cotswolds and ride regularly in and around the region.

As a Londoner by birth, I appreciate this extraordinary landscape for all that it offers.

Your assessment of the benefits offered to cyclists in these parts is well made.

I, on the other hand, hate people who do not live or cycle around here. There is no rhyme or reason to my hatred.

I am just a bitter, resentful, hateful old git. :gun:

I went to a residential school in a village near Cirencester called Ashton Keynes. I hated school with a vengeance, and everyone who worked there, and everything and everyone within a 20 mile radius of the place. I even hate people who even remind me of those miserable 3 years!

I live in Coventry and have ridden in the cotswolds many times, the Coventry Road club sometimes use Wyatt's Tea Room near Great Rollright, I've also done reliability trials and leisure rides in the Cotswolds, lovely area, but I'm not a fan of the hills.

I was once hit (and stung) next to the eye by a wasp, while pedalling flat-out downhill on Baker Street, Weybridge.

I hit the kerb and went over the bars. Later that day the sting closed one of my eyes and almost closed the other.

I HATE, DETEST and CANNOT STAND anyone from Weybridge.

I feel similarly about wasps.

Jeez, that sounds quite unpleasant. Luckily I am not from Weybridge :hugs:and any association I have with it is purely transitory. In fact, after a year of living there I have psychologically completely dissociated myself. On the other hand wasps... I quite like wasps :boxing: I feel very strongly that wasps should have rights! Some kind of rights anyway. Well, maybe. Possibly.

Come on you still have some hills maybe not in the same league. In that part of Essex (Raleigh)ish like Essex Way, Bread & Cheese Hill, Vicarage Hill, Belton Way, Leigh Hill.

Flat is the Fens in Cambs, Norfolk where the biggest hill is a roundabout.

Yes there are a few here and there. There is actually a very nice short sharp shock hill about 2 mins ride from my house. There is also north hill in Danbury, a short steep one out near Downham and one at Church Road that links Lower Road Hullbridge to Hockley Rd which is quite nice as it grinds on for quite a bit, which I will use as a Hill repeat as it is on my way back from my flattish training loop.

Boris,

Perhaps it may be easier to list the things you do not hate, detest, abhor, dislike and can stand.;)

Here's my list:

Here's my list:

My list is longer, but not by much. As follows:

My wife and children, when they agree with me and accept my views.
Denis Bergkamp, but only when he still played.
One or two of my friends. Maybe. I'll have to think about that one.
Bimotas with Ducati engines, apart from the Tesi - which was hateful and wrong.
The Citroen M35, because it took pointlessness to new levels and then disappeared up its own exhaust pipe.
The smell of woodland after rain.

Everyone and everything else, I hate.

My original intention was that it was to be a tongue in cheek post stating that I hated anyone who came from or rode in the cotswolds as I enjoyed my Easter cycling break there, good scenery, lovely undulating landscape and traffic free roads in stark contract to riding in my locale (EDIT and I was extremely jealous of them)

As I am old, bitter and cynical and quite enjoy a good moan as well it could also be used to used vent your spleen on people you hate.

I hate fence sitters.....
