Which is why I'm currently sat at home, bleeding all over my keyboard. ;)

Been putting off a dentist visit for a while (about 20yrs). Finally the pain got to much and I relented.

Just got back from a double extraction, and root canal work. I'm REALLY not looking forward to the anaesthetic wearing off.

Look at it from a positive angle, you've done the bad bit, now hopefully it's just easy rectification work and regular check-ups.

Well done btw. It wasn't so bad was it? Or was it?

go every 6 months mate and get them looked at before anything major happens. Prevention is better then the cure as they say. Toothache will never go away, only get worse.

I am lucky that I have a great dentist, very nice young Indian lady of whom I do quite enjoy having her hands in my gob..

Hi ianrauk, I think we have the same dentist if you go to Northam House. She re-did and old filling of mine a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time I met her. Couldn't stop oogling her legs for shame.

You shoulda seen the Orthodontic Registrar we took our son to see at Burnley General yesterday. Must have been about 25, great figure, long toned legs, tight skirt, shaggin' shoes, cute little specs balanced daintily on the end of her nose, lovely long brown hair tied up in a little bun.... just a shame about her couch-side manner. I'm sure a little, er, private couch action would have warmed her up a little.

I had no complaints but of course now my wife keeps referring to her as "Miss Cheap Shoes"!

Ahhh, well, I beg to differ! :becool:

As a self-confessed ex-dentiphobe I learned early on that if you can put up with the pain for a week or so, it does actually go away. I guess the nerve ends die-off or something, but unfortunately doing this in the long term leaves you with a mouth full of jagged, rotting, smelly things instead of a nice row of pearly whites.

I only really got over my phobia about 5 years ago, and because I'd caused so much damage I now have quite a few gaps where I should have teeth, and have had pretty much most all types of work done to rectify the problems I caused.

The very worst one was a wisdom tooth extraction - bloody hell they're welded in tight. When the anesthetic wore off I had such intense pain that when went to open my mouth to talk to the wife I almost passed out. A few hours later though and it had worn off to a subtle dull ache and I even managed to get out for a few pints with the lads that night.

I must admit, if I won the lottery my teeth would be one of the first things I'd sort. Whilst they're okay now (they've stopped falling to bits) they are all ruined and I'd love a set of those perfect white ones all the film stars have.

Cheers,
Shaun xx(

Had a wisdom tooth removed at the dentists - it had been giving me a bit of gyp and, I know this is wierd but, I liked the sensation of it coming out - must be some kind of pervy thing! :becool:

Im maybe little sadist but I enjoy the dentist, maybe it because of the relief from the pain and taste. Also I keep all my teeth that have been extracted nice little collection I have now :becool:

I go to an all-female practice. My dentist has the habit of cradling my head in her "cough" bosoms "cough" when she's doing some tricky work. it really is most relaxing and takes my mind off things remarkably well.

I don't know if she's aware of what she's doing but I'm definately not going to tell her!

Curiously I don't mind going to the dentist.

I'm wondering why that is. Possibly some latent masochistic tendencies coming out.

Hmm. Research required methinks!!
