Just thought I'd share that. It's good to have a rant, and I feel compelled to inflict it on you poor CCers

They have been the bane of my life since they moved in about 18 months ago. No longer can I enjoy the peace and tranquility of my own home. I have tried I really have, but my elastic band is about to snap.

Every evening I'm inflicted with some kind of dance music in every single room in my house. I have asked them several times to turn their music down to no avail. Sunday night they had it on ALL night, and it was still going when I left for work in the morning. I get excited when he works away / doesn't come home of an evening.

Right now I have an irrational desire to turn Classic FM on full blast but that would probably be counter productive and very immature.

They also have absolutely no parking whatsoever, not even outside their own house as the road is not wide enough. Still doesn't stop them parking one estate and one VW transporter van outside everyone elses house. I don't mind them parking outside mine so long as they don't obstruct my gate or driveway which they still do. When their friends come over they then park their cars all over the place so you have one house taking up 4-6 spaces on a regular basis.

In an act of retaliation I've parked my car in front of my drive this evening. That means they can only park one of their vehicles in front of my house. They've parked the VW in front of somebody else's house and I overheard him getting shouted at and told that they shouldn't have bought a house with no where to park. Needless to say he has ruffled a few feathers there as he refused to move his van (fair enough, legally he is perfectly entitled to park there as he isn't obstructing any ones drive this time). That made me feel a bit better as at least it's not just me being hypersensitive about it.

I think on Monday I may well get in touch with the local environmental health office and complain about the noise. I've been keeping a log and can demonstrate that I have at least tried alternative methods of resolving this so fingers crossed they will at a minimum assess the situation. I've tried to avoid going down this route as you have to declare any neighbour disputes if you ever sell your house. I've just jolly well had enough!

Inconsiderate Tw@t

I do feel for you Plax. I have moved house before now because of bad neighbours, and it was a house I really didn't want to leave. But I just had enough. The neighbours I have now are brilliant.

Yep. If all else has fails, do it. Good luck, as I know it is not nice living next door to twats.

I have troublresome neighbours and I can just about cope.Im up at 4am sometimes and they are playing cards/drinking/playing dominoes all night...Seems to be a group of Chinese and usually there is about ten of them shouting at each other all night.
The Police have been round more times in the last two years than they had in the last thirteen years before.Usualuy because some sort of fight or when the nutter and his missus lived upstairs it was a rollercoaster ride.I really thought at the time it was going to turn out quite nasty.

Luckily I don't have to put up with music.

My upstairs neighbour is generally noisy in the morning playing music for a couple of hours before he goes to work (sic).

As I say I have been through worse but it's a godsend when they are out.

I have to have a fan on all night to drown out the noise of the shouting.

As I say probably not as bad as what you have to put up with so I feel for you Plax.

Is the property owned or rented, Plax? If it's rented, then the landlord needs to know he/she has nuisance tenants.

I feel for you. Been there, had the neighbours from hell bit, including the guy trying to hit me with a hammer and on another occasion, his dogs going for MrWC's throat - in our garden...

It isn't rented unfortunately, he bought the house with a friend. I've not seen his friend since and his girlfriend seems to have moved in instead. So either he has bought his friend out or his friend still owns half and lives somewhere else.

Certainly sounds like you have had neighbours from hell! I don't think these are the violent sort, just the inconsiderate, "the world evolves around me" sort.

I really feel for you Plax.

I've had some pretty poor neighbours in my time. In fact the guy who lives above me currently is a borderline pain in the neck. He does like to play his music/ computer games pretty loud. If I tell him to turn them down he does, but there's so often just a low level of noise that you can't hear if the tv/radio/stereo is on but if I just want to read (or tip tap to you CC folks) it can really become quite annoying.

In fact I may have to go up in a minute and ask him to turn the current racket down.

Just thought I'd say our neighbour is lovely (I only know one...not that'd I'd recognise her down the street). She leaves us nice notes if she's having a party and popped one through the door apologising that her fire alarm was going off all day when she was away last week (we could barely hear it...and we set ours off about 10 times a night ).

She seems really friendly.

Not great Plax, lived in similar situations so don't envy you. Good luck with the council-hope they come and check the situation. Have you got access to a camera to film the noise at different hours of the day for evidence?

It is sad to think so many people live cheek by jowl with inconsiderate morons. There is a lot to be said for living a quiet life in harmony with ones neighbours. In your case Plax you dont have to live in a hell caused by others-go down the legal route and pursue it until a satisfactory solution is found. If this isnt possible..............burn their house down!!!(joke)

My in laws once had a noisy neighbour with music (many years ago)...... they did the turn the speakers to the wall, turn the sound up and go out......all day.......... bonus point is that they had a business that made speakers (so the ones in the house were rather good) and found some horrendous organ music............ needless to say it worked...but that was then, not today's society...........

You need to do things officially......dance music all night all the time is not funny....

I hate your neighbours too, Plax!

My neighbours have just put their house on the market and it will be a relief when they go. We fell out after they put a series of 5 planning applications which would have impinged badly on us - thankfully they were refused but the damage has been done.

I hope you can resolve things satisfactorily.
