Ok, so what did the Romans ever do to improve picture quality...
I've left them there. At least that way you know that if you hit one of those channels when channel-hopping, there's really nothing on and one should go and get a life, or something. Each time I autotune the TV I get about 80 channels and have to sit there and deselect about 50 of them.
There seems to be one that broadcasts porn but only from 4-5 am, Gay Rabbit which seems to be a dating version of ceefax and then lots of people standing there selling you stuff in a format that is like a gameshow but without the game and where you pay for the prize yourself.
This suggests a certain dedication to your researchThere seems to be one that broadcasts porn but only from 4-5 am.
You are not trying hard enough!Eighty channels and not a damn thing worth watching on TV...
But Mrs OTH comes in the room just as I getting through the dodgy section.I've left them there. At least that way you know that if you hit one of those channels when channel-hopping, there's really nothing on and one should go and get a life, or something.

I only get Freeview 'light' so I am restricted to about 10 channels but I can still find plenty of interesting programmes.
I am currently watching a series about the history of Britain. I recently watched a scary documentary about the construction of the tallest building in China, the Shanghai Tower. I just watched part one of three about the Crossrail project, another fascinating Civil Engineering project. Music documentaries, wild life, sport ... Just skip the soaps, reality TV etc and look out for the interesting stuff that gets hidden away in the middle of the night and record that to watch at a more civilised time.
I'm enjoying the reshowing of 80s series 'Edge of Darkness' which I missed first time round because I was away at university at the time, TV-less.
I am recording a documentary about the Earth's atmosphere on BBC4 tonight.
I have a stock of films recorded for those nights when there actually isn't much of interest on. A selection of stuff from the bizarre - 'The Cook, the Thief ...' to more predictable, but still entertaining - 'Jackie Brown', and others which may turn out to be awful, or surprisingly good - a modern version of 'Wuthering Heights', 'The Fighter', and so on.
And for backup, I usually have a boxed DVD set of something or other. At the moment - 'Mad Men'.
There is a little sign for the rest of the time! This suggests a certain dedication to your research![]()
To be honest, I don't try at all. With the exception of a few afternoons each July, watching Le Tour I do not watch TV at all. Haven't in years. You are not trying hard enough!

Back when I was married and had cable, I came home after a night out to find my mother watching naked skydiving...But Mrs OTH comes in the room just as I getting through the dodgy section.
As I mentioned above, I did not watch TV as a student. I used to have the radio on every evening while I was studying, programming, or assembling circuit boards. I didn't really miss it, but in those days we only had 4 channels so we did not have such a wide of programmes to choose from.To be honest, I don't try at all.
