I've not driven a Discovery, but it was quite uncomfortable for passengers. A Focus is much nicer.
Were you sat in the boot or clinging to the bonnet ?

I can just see the disappointment on Linfy's face when he sees that it's a mountain bike!
Bonnet surely, User482 wouldn't be seen dead inside a car, particularly a 4x4.Were you sat in the boot or clinging to the bonnet ?

I like the old square ones but not the new ones. It's getting pretty difficult to find a good example of one now and the petrol costs are too much too contemplate. I'd rather have one of them than an old draughty Landy though.I have a 4x4 too...........but not a pansy one, a "proper" one, a '98 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L straight six. Cost me peanuts 3 years ago & although it's not used regularly it has proved very useful indeed, it's a real utility vehicle. BTW I have noticed it is smaller than a Mondeo and is dwarfed by pansy 4x4's.
You've stolen Linf's 4x4?

Snowdon?Mine is certainly not worth £53k. One wonders why anyone would want to take such a valuable car out in bad weather.
I'll be up the hill tonight in mine...family are already reserving seats![]()
I've got 2 of those now. The 4x4 is more fun in the snow by a country mile than any 2 wheeler (MX bike excepted)
4x4s were stuck with all the other cars this morning. If you think that's more fun than snowy mountain biking, then that says a great deal about you...
Snowdon?

If you are referring to all of the soft roading road tyred town cars littering Brizzle, then I would agree that they will struggle. Are the main roads clear down your way still ?
I take it you have never ridden an MX bike in the snow ?

You're missing the point, which is that the capabilities of 4x4s this morning were entirely irrelevant.
Mine (1998) is pretty mint, these later ones had the galvanised chassis and last a long time. It does maybe 15mpg but, paradoxically, I find it very cheap motoring. Anything other than a Jeep or Land Rover, I wouldn't be seen dead in, the Jeep is way cheaper and more luxurious..............
