For the past couple of weeks i have fancied buying a good pair of jeans. So today i set myself that task.Well i am 38"waist and 34"/35" inside leg.Went to a few of the younger mans shops.Nothing over a 36" waist. So into a Levi shop ok my size but hells bells prices.Put me right off.
So into High and Mighty superb jeans £29-95,waist size ok but get this inside leg 38".Eck i thought i was tall but my word these guys must be Giants but what quality.Well i was down to M&S not exactly where i wanted to be,but i then spotted Gap so nowt to lose.Got some 38w 34"il plus a belt not from there £37.Result.

But a question just how good are Levi jeans and are they worth £75-£90.I got the Gap ones for smart but casual look.

They are very good, i've got a couple of pairs that are 10+ years old (seem to have shrunk a bit over the last few years, but only around the waist, strangely).

If you have a Slater Menswear nearby or you happen to be in Birmingham any time it's well worth a visit, loads of tall, thin, wide and short sizes in plenty of different makes. I'm a 34 - 36" waist, 36 - 38" inside leg so know all about odd sizing.

I never buy expensive jeans as I usually end up with them covered in oil, paint etc.

Postie, you aren't riding enough. I recently went down to 32" waist jeans, and they are falling off now. 34's were wide enough on the legs, but too loose on the waist. The 32's are a bit tight on the legs. Can't wear Levi 501's - the last time I could get my legs into them was when I was in my teens. More cycling has meant that 'loose' fit is needed.

Postie,

Great Clothes on York Road stock jeans that will fit you. They are reasonably priced too. Next door is Wynsor shoes where there's many a bargain to be had.

I've bought jeans at £20 per pair from Great Clothes.
I got a decent pair of shoes from Wynsors for £20

Check them out.

I'm still working through a batch of £3 jeans I bought from Tescos and Asda years ago. Fortunately they haven't shrunk in storage.

I destroy jeans through working in them so I would rather get cheap ones and then cut up dead pairs to patch knees and pockets to keep the £3 pairs going.

Gap jeans are great for me. They last for ages, have good width in the thigh (essential for any cyclist!) and they do a 36" inside leg. It's worth signing up to their mailing list as they often send out good special offers - I get a voucher for 30% off every couple of months.

Rohan jeans...70 notes, but they'll last you forever.

I love Gap jeans, 33/34 Loose fit are perfect for me, albeit a tad baggy round the waist.

Levis are good and I wouldn't object to paying the price they ask, I just find the cut of the Gap gear fits me better.

I think the brand of jeans you need to buy is dependent on your body shape!

Personally I like Levi 501s and they suit me because I have narrow hips and waist with long legs. I find that "comfort fit" jeans look like big baggy clown trousers on me because my legs are slim.

I'm a 31" waist and a 34" leg, so it makes finding tracksuit bottoms incredibly frustrating. If they're small enough on the waist, they look like shorts and if they're long enough in the leg, I can wrap them round my waist three times. Why do they do tracky bottoms in "S", "M" and "L" only, rather than separate waist and leg measurements like other trousers? We're not all just one, standard shape.

I tend to buy my jeans from M&S as they seem to fit the best (The stretchy ones), as I have quite large thighs (It's muscle, I promise!) in comparison with my waist, but I also have some of the cheaper (non stretchy ones) which are also fine, they're £20. Cannot remember how much the stretchy ones were (Unless they were the same price).

M&S also do their "Big and Tall" jeans for similar price, might be worth checking out in future.

One o the perks of working at next. The staff shop regularly has jeans for a fiver or so for mucky work and i splash out a little bit for occasion jeans. Police ones fit me nicely with their combaty style geometry.
