I just couldn't help myself .
On the way home from my chicken run I had a learner driver cut into the cycle lane and wait at the red lights . It is a pinch point for two lanes of traffic and the cycle lane turns onto the path just before the lights . I normally hop on the path well before but seeing a paid instructor teaching his student to do it I just had to tap on the rear window and gesture about the lane thing  They moved out of the lane so I could go a further 10ft before the lane goes to the path .
It does beg the question , why is he teaching someone to use the cycle lane rather than keep it tight to the right hand filter lane .

It boggles the mind.

Not only do they pollute the air, but these motorists also overshoot the stop line and encroach into our ASL. They, then have the audacity to place a wheel into OUR cycle lane thus holding us up.

I had words recently with a driving instructor. Dark night, stopped at a junction, and his student was holding the car on the foot brake, zapping me right in the eyes with the high level brake light. The bulk of these Muppets aren't any better that the average driver.

Maybe he wasn't. The instructor has dual controls, but not a second steering wheel. Maybe, just maybe, you interrupted the instructor having a word with the pupil about lane positioning, and pointing out where the pupil had gone wrong!

I doubt it . He had to look in his mirror to see what the problem was but you could be right . I didn't really care , I just saw the big sign on top of the car and the little tinker in me came out :giggle:

Taking my learner daughter out practicing last Sunday, she did about three things that, whilst not dangerous, probably caused another driver to mutter rude words. That's learning for you.

Not so long ago, on Gt Western Road in Glasgow I was almost left hooked by the clown on a mobile phone. Driving instructor, natch.

Come to think of it, I did have words with a learner earlier this year. His window was open at the red lights and I told him he should get a bike - it would be cheaper then driving. The instructor was not amused.
Often tempted to do the same, find it very odd that students would pay for an hour lesson whilst idling in traffic for about 45 minutes of that. Better get used to queuing kiddos. Muhawhaaw!

I am a devious and vindictive Barsteward!

I had a driving instructor (with Pupil) wind down the window at traffic lights and inform me I should be on the cycle path, so I asked him where he had got that from...... and apparently it is "the law".

Not a sensible thing to say when on a Helmet Cam!

Trouble is I was so "shocked" by this statement that I forgot to read any of the names emblazoned in 6 foot lettering advertising the School

So nothing else to do but send the video to ALL the local Driving Schools asking if it was one of their drivers, and could they explain why he was so ill informed, and expressing my concern that this was what his pupils are being taught.

Lots of replies, stating that this was not their standard and forwarding the video to the correct School

Now having had the original complaint and a dozen other driving schools stating that the teaching standard varied from "poor" through "unacceptable" to "atrocious" I received an outright apology and assured that the driving instructor was being re-assessed and that the pupil would also be informed that he had been given the wrong information

I thought this was a joke right up to the end, top result!

I have myself been shouted at by a instructor for not using a cycle lane that ended for a mini roundabout (yes really), he must have wanted me to stop dead in the road and head back the way I came. I cannot fathom what part of this chaps minuscule brain decided it would be acceptable to hurl abuse at a cyclist for simply using a road. Way to set an example to the next generation. Don't commercial instructors need to pass an advanced training course?! Slightly worrying that these clowns are allowed to teach others.
