Because of the little firework show of spray that my grippy tyres throw up into my light beam.

It is a beautiful sight and it is just for me.

Simple pleasures.
Shouldn't you be in bed?

I like seeing the spray thrown up and lit.

The amount of other shoot is rather upsetting though.

And then a lorry passes, dousing me in more spray than a peloton

I like cycling in the dark, but must admit the last few days of being able to get out in the daylight has made a refreshing change.

Barnet,
I like cycling at night in the wet as well. Must be a bit of the masochist/adventurer/idiot in me.:bicycle:

Waterproof socks and walking boots last night. I knew it wasn't going to be a nice evening.
Anyone else suffered walking boots splitting the uppers from the soles roughly level with the balls of your feet when cycling? Is there any common factors in why it happens? It's happened on toothed MTB pedals - not yet on flat rubber pedals but I fear it could again as I doubt the pedal teeth made the sole bend enough to weaken/wear the join.
