Even if you do drink too much the night before, cycling in to work the morning after makes you feel miles better.

Or so I've been told. :whistle:
I've no idea what you are talking about (after a few sherberts last night)

Oddly enough cycling has made me less tolerant of traffic jams when I do have to drive. I now just get frustrated when I encounter a jam, wishing I were on my bike instead.
Thankfully driving to work simply isn't an option for me.

Driving in heavy traffic is hell on earth. The girl next to me at work buys a new car every year, and all she does is creep 5 miles to work and back in traffic. It's madness..

I am three months into "serious" commuting... ive done a few months in summer in the past but never fully committed. Train prices went up again and I realised it was time for a change! So I got myself a folding bike and now commute daily, I bloody love it! I get to see bits of London I didnt know I was passing on the tube ive saved a thousand quid on rail fairs and I feel fitter! Wish I had done this year's ago!!

I've been pondering this. Perhaps driving IS an option for me. Sure, it would take at least twice as long, I'd have to pay the congestion charge and horrendous parking charges, and I'd put on lots of weight. But many of the people I pass on my way to work don't seem to be put off by this!

I think I'll stick to the bike, faster, cheaper, healthier. And a lot more FUN!

I did wonder why driving wasn't an option but didn't like to ask:blush: I now see why

I hate driving now. I only use it for long distances with the kids.

My commute can be a bit hairy at times, but I can honestly say that I have less agro with people in cars when I'm on a bike, than when I'm in my car?

8.2mile commute options for me;

Car = 1hr minimum - up to 1hr 30mins in traffic
Underground and bus = 1 hr minimum
cycle = 40mins max! and I feel better at work, clearer lungs, not tired, fitter...........
