I've just bought Reelights. For that very purpose. Always on, fit and forget 'magnetic dynamo' powered. Due to be delivered today/tomorrow.

Forgot to add which ones I bought.
I picked up some cheap £4.99 lights from wilkos. Pretty much the same as the all the cheap ones on the Internet. Same the as the ones @bricksmasher posted from Tesco.
Surprisingly bright and perfect for a be seen light... =)

I get around the backup light problem by using front and rear dynamo lights. So if I ever forget to charge my front USB light or the 2 rear USB lights, I always have backups. I realise of course that dynamo lights aren't for everyone and probably not ideal for putting on road bikes, so Reelights are a good backup solution, as @biking_fox just mentioned.
