I gather adding cocoa powder or grated chocolate to a chilli sauce gives it nice twist.

I think Guinea Pigs would be a bit more Peruvian style...
 
The Thomasina Miers book is very good, as is that Robb Walsh one (all his books are good - there's an excellent proper bbq one) as an addition I'd highly recommend this one:

It's a bit pricy on Amazon (I bought mine in the states) but is v v good - the chicken and avocado salad recipe in it is just awesome.

And Uncle Mort - rather than buying a press, have you tried the saucepan? put your bowl of masa in the middle of a folded & lightly oiled bit of clingfilm, put saucepan on top and press evenly - hey presto - nice tortilla.
