Yes, if you want Wifi, get it. When I mounted my camera on a helmet I became quite conscious of where I looked and how still I held my head because I was recording that view. With a helmet mount Wifi may be useful. On a recumbent I don't wear a helmet so my camera has a fixed bar mount. It records where I steer rather than where I look and there isn't much I can do about that.

The difference between a helmet mount and bar mount is interesting because a helmet mount influences where you look. At least it did with me.

Where's the best place to buy an AS10?

BigonaBianchi

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
Not the same I know but I like my hedcam wide 1st generation bullet...cheap..I got it for approx. £100 . it works fine...lasts about 2 hrs 30 mins (top) and hedcam have just sent me a firmware update so I can have a time date stamp embedded on the film if I want. Simple on/off...easy mounts helmet, bars, headband ( iuse this)

Note the AS10 was never officially sold in the UK by Sony, I have two AS10's and they are both US cameras.

This camera (linked above) is from a UK seller. I found a few US sellers selling them for about £120 but import fees and shipping took the price to £160+

Wiggle refunded me for my broken Contour today, they didn't have to send it back to the manufacturer in France which I was surprised at, great service!

I bought mine in Dec 2012. Given that there is more alternatives since then I'm surprised the prices haven't come down more .

Drift has recently released their HD Ghost model which is pricey at £299, but the predecessor is the Drift HD and goes for about £150. IMO this camera gives a better image than the Sony.

I was looking at the Drift HD but the mic quality + low light performance has put me off. I'm keen on the AS10 because a lot of my riding will be in the dark during the Winter so having a camera with good low light performance makes sense.

Don't put too much faith in the low light capabilities of the Sony because it doesn't handle light contrast well. That means that headlights and tail lights destroy surrounding detail. I got better night footage off my older camsports.
