I need a USB cable - no data, power only

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and charge it from an external USB battery. Some cables work while some don't so I think I know what you are talking about.

I had to make up a cable to fit my (excellent) waterproof SGS2 case. Pins 1 and 4 are connected, pins 2 and 3 (data) are disconnected. The cable works fine.

Think you'll find that usb cables for power adapters usually function as usb data cables too. All mine do be it the garmin edge 500, logitech harmony remote, mini dv camera. See here if it isn't you on another forum which suggests the dahon is borderline for smartphones even if it will recharge an iphone.

The problem is with the devices, if the data connections are live, it will go into storage or sync mode and not necessarily charge the device.

If the data connections are dead then charging will occur.
