...what appeared to be a rather splendid Molteni retro cycling shirt from Amazon a month ago.

I say "appeared to be", because having been dispatched from China, gone through customs at Shanghai airport, flown to and arrived at Heathrow and cleared customs, it then mysteriously went missing on a short drive from Heathrow to Hayes, five miles perhaps?

Thanks, Yodel.

I ordered a replacement 'very loud' phone bell for the workshop. Had an email today to say that the delivery driver couldn't find me, and he didn't get an answer when he phoned for directions..............er...........

I had a huge patio heater go missing , ordered from amazon, tracked to Yodel depot in Keighley then mysteriously disappeared, i did get a replacement after contacting the seller who in turn contacted Yodel who informed them it had "got lost". If you google "Yodel" you will gets hundreds of complaints and even reports from former yodel drivers who openly admit it easy to "nick stuff" from yodel.

I've told the seller what happened to the parcel, heavily hinting he should review his delivery options. I've had a refund, which is fine, but I'm really hacked off because I wanted to wear that shirt on a ride on Boxing Day.

It might be confirmation bias, but I do seem to get more close passes from Yodel drivers than from anyone else.

We get a lot of stuff delivered to my workplace from Yodel and the drivers never ask me to sign for anything as proof of delivery.

I had a book delivered ftom Amazon, the packaging had clearly been opened and the packing list was missing. I sent it back and got a replacement. No guessing who the courier was. The thing is they clearly decided it wasn't worth nicking and threw it back.

Yodel drivers nick stuff out of each others cages when they're putting their round together in the warehouse - makes it difficult to attribute the theft to the driver who was supposed to be delivering it, the obvious suspect.

Do not ask how I know this.

I used to work for a company that did some customer service work for Yodel. I heard some real horror stories.

To balance it out, Yodel were having "problems" delivery to an address in south London. The drivers kept saying no one answered. The woman at the address said she'd been there all day. And so it went on. One of the girls at the Vauxhall depot got so hacked off with it that she took the parcel round in her own time to make sure it got delivered. Happy ending!
