What is bff and it was only a joke mentioning horses. We always pass the time of day with two lovely women near Thorner,Leeds. It's those boots and jodpurs.Oh Oh Oh.

My VED went up £10 in the last year, i thought £235 was already enough to pay

That is the way I normally "win" the argument...I had this with a guy at work who is avidly anti-cyclist, and started this off in the staf room (he really should know better by now)

Simply agreed and ask him how much he suggested would be a reasonable amount for a cyclist to fairly pay their way if they were assessed in the same way as VED on cars.

He reckoned £100 would be about right

Then pointed out that if assessed on a level playing field, cycles would be in Band A and if he wanted that to be £100 Band A would be paying more than bands B,C and D.... would he be raising all VED bands by £100 to maintain the differential?

Of course this would not be the case.... he already pays enough

Which leaves him open to the reply...

So this is actually nothing to do with "Road Tax" or cyclists paying their fair share then, .. you want a special band where cyclist pay more than an Audi A4 or Ford Focus, how do you justify that?

Which of course he can't.

Broken FlipFlop who argued that horses should not be allowed on the road where they might cause damage to his 4x4.

He didn't like 'binmen' either... I miss him.

Linford has returned, as Linford. He is not brokenflipflip although he was, at one stage, present as Linford LunchBox, which might be the source of your confusion, Uncle M.

Although it could also be age. :giggle:
