My house backs onto a nice country park called Peel Hall Park. I'm part of an organised volunteer group called 'friends of peel hall park'. We have regular litter pick days and have spent many hours clearing paths and cutting back shrubs and bushes. We recently planted hundreds of trees and will be creating a large wild flower meadow.
Some barsteward has just dumped this! Its about 1500 cm long and very heavy so must have been at least 2 people.

My son is a chef and says the following......

That’s an industrial service fridge. I’d imagine a pub has asked someone to get rid of it, paid them and then it’s been dumped. It costs a small fortune to get rid of them properly because of the gases. They’re recyclable but if someone has taken the coil to the refrigeration gas compartment then it’s worthless

Someone's dumped a bike up there! What a )*)(^*&&^%

I saw that particular pile of stuff too - really incredibly annoying.
One reason that those large boulders were placed along the side of the road there was that joyriders used to steal cars, drive up there, and push them over the edge. I once saw 3 burned out wrecks down there at the same time.

The other reason is to stop people accidentally driving over the edge!

All went well until we got to Thursden. We crossed the cattle grid and began the climb but there was absolutely no grip and we had to make emergency dismounts. Closer inspection revealed that there was a river of black ice all the way down the hill! Because of its orientation, the road is in shadow so there is no heat from the winter sun to melt any ice that forms. The road had not been gritted so it was potentially lethal.

We started walking our bikes up along the grass verge but then I saw a car hurtling down the hill towards us. I waved frantically at the driver but he made no attempt to slow down so I screamed at him as he passed and that did the trick. He skidded to a halt just before he got to the black ice and leapt out of his car, looking like he was ready to pick a fight with me. "Oh yeah, oh YEAH!" that kind of thing. I just pointed at the road in front of his car and suggested that it probably wouldn't have done him, his girlfriend or his car much good to have hit that at speed. He went all sheepish after that "Oh, er, thanks mate - yeah, could have been nasty, that!"

We have the same problem in our neck of the woods with empty food containers thrown out of cars as they drive through the main neighbourhood road. Every morning out to feed the homeless cats at 6:00 I pick up a bag full. Filthy people!

I see it quite often when riding around

I always try to take a photo and report it to whatever counsel
The local one (Halton) seems quite good and it always goes within a few days or a week

Someone on a local NextDoor group posted a photo of a fly tip a few weeks ago
I replied suggesting that they report it and giving a link to do it with

they replied that it wasn't worth it because they never do anything

well - if they don;t know about it then they won't!!!

Put the cost of waste disposal and recycling onto the purchase price of the products, and make waste disposal free at the point of use. Then you can make products that are more expensive to dispose of more expensive to buy, and have a system that incentivises waste reduction instead of one that incentivises fly tipping.

The stones for that on Wrynose are about the size of bricks. ^_^

The worst case I've seen was a camp of gypsies using the field they were on as the dumping ground for an illegal waste disposal racket. I reported it to the council, but they weren't interested as soon as they realised it was private land.

The most brazen case was a video on Twitter of a truck dumping a load in the middle of a residential street in London whilst a passer by filmed them doing it.
