Spring is a botanical phenomenon, in response to weather and day length. It started before Christmas, when high season daffodils began flowering. They're still going.
Given that we can have snow commonly for six months of the year and sometimes beyond that it seems a bit silly to try to pin snowfall down to one three-month period.
Well, thanks for that, but there is only one calendar for me: the astrological calendar. The other one is an imposter and has only been invented for our convenience and does not reflect the true seasons.
You really need to fix this, unless you think that spring starts with Aries, and are angry the newspapers do not agree.
But even if you meant astronomical calendar, all that specifies is the time of the vernal equinox. Whether that is the beginning of spring is a up to the human mind. The word "Spring" isn't written the stars.
