Yes, I can't imagine Nick Crane embarrassing anyone when bending down! I met him a few years ago when he was giving a talk at the Moravian Centre/Scouts Club hot pot in Manchester. He did a slide show of his walk around Europe. That was before he became a household name. He was very pleasant but quite shy then.
