Well nearly.I was having a little light refreshment,at my favourite table. At the Wharfe View Cafe,Otley. When all of a sudden. Two or three motorcycle riders went over the bridge. Two more stopped our side of the bridge. Then a large fancy car followed by the Land Rover with Her Maj inside .Couple of more serius looking cars followed by more cyclists.Off to the Yorkshire Show she was.Well i finished mydrink and tea cake.Had a natter to a couple.Had another drink and a bacon sarnie. And the whole thing came back the other way.I had at least one hour at Otley. So she must have gone waved and then come straight back out again. What a waste of time that visit must have been.Actually saw her quickly she seemed so little sitting in the back of a large Land Rover.

I wonder how many people the Queen has personally greeted in her lifetime. I reckon at least 20 a day every day which gives at least 600,000, no?

Yes, Queens only come in size 'small'. Queen Vic was the same. The Dook of Edinboro. visited my uni once and he's pint size as well. Things have never been the same after King Charles II who was the size of 2 kings, one on top of the other. That explains how he got up into the oak tree, of course.

I met the Queen Mother and Prince Philip on different occasions!

The Queen's the only one of the monarchy I admire.

Bring on the republic! ;)

I like the Queen and think she's well worth the money we spend on her in the UK. That sense of duty and pride in her nation is sorely missing in today's society in my view. (I sound like my Mum). I think she will be a loss to the country when she goes.

The rest of her family? Whatever.

But Queenie? God bless her.

I saw her briefly at the Yorkshire Show, she asked how I was doing and if the fitness regime was doing well. She couldn't stop long because she had to go back to london (no capital L as it is NOT the centre of my world) to clean up dog poo off the back lawn so Prince Harry can cut the grass for her...... I think.
