The same way that some folk assemble mountain bikes with the forks back to front.

I was sat in a traffic jam the other day looking at some BSO's on the back of a camper and the female version had the forks on backwards! I didn't believe it could happen until I saw it!

I thought it was impossible until I stopped at the pub on the Forth & Clyde a few weeks ago. 3 folk giving cycling a try. One of the women had the forks on the wrong way round. Pointed out the error and it seems her man had assembled the bike.

how the fek do you manage to wear a helmet the wrong way around???

err, I've put my stash-it helmet on the wrong way round a couple of times. It's almost symmetrical and the straps always need adjustment after folding anyway, so if I don't stop and look carefully it's easy to get it wrong. Don't have any problems with my other helmet though.

really bizzarly someone has posted on another forum saying just they saw someone with their helmet on the wrong way as well (in Glasgow I think so not where OP is from...)

Must be a new trend

Very uncomfortably, I guess.

Sure it wasn't one of those BMX full-face helmets?
