I wouldn't say he's bottled it. He was clearly more injured in his motorcycle accident than he admitted at the time. Driving those things put series strain on the neck and he has fractures in his neck.

It's a real shame, whatever has happened. I was looking forward to him highlighting just how over-rated and overpaid Kimi Raikkonen actually is.

Heh, pain in neck stops comeback...

And it wouldn't take a Schumacher to highlight that. Kimi barely bothers these days, you have to ask why he even turns up sometimes.

Depends what you mean, some people with the same or less talent than Raikkonen have won 3 and 4 world titles. Massa hasn't had a brilliant year either, had a few very weak qualifying sessions, as did raikkonen.

Ferrari haven't had a great year full-stop, but Raikkonen (who must be good, you don't get to win a championship just by turning up) seems to give the impression that he just isn't that bothered.

I take your point but I think the one who is really having an off period is Vettel. Good if you're Jenson Button, then again Schumacher coming back if the second coming was to believed would probably have been good for Button.

True, but Vettel has been scorching in previous races. He's probably earned a little slack if he's dropped off the pace a bit.

If he were just out for a cool year, I'd agree. He should be out to try and win the world championship. Adrian's cars tend to be very good when there are big rule changes and then tail off after that. My worry for Vettel would be that he slacks off, finishes a way back to Button rather than close and then regrets it for the next 2 or 3 years as he matures and the car may not be as good.

Neck injury hasn't stopped him bike racing since nor kart racing. He was out of F1 for a long time with a faily clean break to his leg - a bike rider would have been plated and racing again within 4 weeks. Maybe F1 really is brutal .
