Where I previously had worked, one day the office conversation veered into Eastenders territory (a void in the time/space continuum as far as I am concerned) and the late Wendy Richard. I mentioned that I always thought of her as Miss Brahms in Are You Being Served?. Our secretary (20 - something) looked blank. I went on to explain the infamous Mrs Slocombe's pussy gag. Still blank as she'd never seen the show and thought of Wendy Richards as being only in Eastenders. Similar thing happened when I was chatting about Monty Python to our annual student placement employee and he'd only ever seen the movies, not the TV series, but went on to say that his dad had recently bought the box set, so he was loooking forward to watching it. That made me feel old as I watched it the first time round
