That's just a passing phase. Once you retire they don't look at you at all, unless you have a senior moment and forget to unclip, then they have you well and truly spotted.

Went into Marks and Spencer without protest.
I think that only counts if you passed a display and thought "Elasticated waists? Now that would be comfy."

Where I previously had worked, one day the office conversation veered into Eastenders territory (a void in the time/space continuum as far as I am concerned) and the late Wendy Richard. I mentioned that I always thought of her as Miss Brahms in Are You Being Served?. Our secretary (20 - something) looked blank. I went on to explain the infamous Mrs Slocombe's pussy gag. Still blank as she'd never seen the show and thought of Wendy Richards as being only in Eastenders. Similar thing happened when I was chatting about Monty Python to our annual student placement employee and he'd only ever seen the movies, not the TV series, but went on to say that his dad had recently bought the box set, so he was loooking forward to watching it. That made me feel old as I watched it the first time round:laugh:.

By the time 'Are you being served' was on television Wendy Richard had been acting for years (since 1961 at least) She had also had a hit record,

Realising my dad was younger than I am now. when he broke his back and had to stop work.

Going to my nieces 18th earlier this month having met my wife ( her blood auntie) when my niece was 6 weeks old !

Introducing myself on a training course in work and telling people I had been in the industry for nearly 30 years !

Getting in on Sunday morning at 5am after a club function and not getting up till nearly bedtime as I was a bit poorly .......

I might be old, but when ISIS take you hostage you want a crusty old fart like me to come to your rescue, not some trigger happy chirpie chappie with product in his hair.
