Just a rant really! I've had three of them you know whats, in as many weeks on my Subway :cursing:. Then yesterday, I took my new addition, a Giant Dash 2 out for it's first run, a nice little 20 mile jaunt. Lovely day and an enjoyable ride.
I go into the garage this afternoon to take the Subway shopping and notice the tyre on the front wheel of the Dash is as flat as a pancake. Is it just a bad run of luck, or are p@#%tures more of a problem at this time of year? It has been thorns on the Subway, but could'nt find the culprit on the Dash.

I hear those words bantered around here a lot, they must have a proven track record. I can't be doing with a pu...... per ride  I'll look right now for 'best price' Marathon Plus. Oh, bye the way. do you use these primarily for the winter months, or for all time? thanks

What tyres do you use now?
What have been the causes of the punctures?
M+ are great commuting tyres, but other tyres should be much better than 1 flat per ride, unless each ride is 500 miles ^_^

Here's a post I prepared earlier:

"Check for foreign bodies in tyre.

Check for spokes poking through rim tape and other internal sharps such as exposed spoke hole edges.

Avoid snake bite/ pinch flats.

Fit puncture proof tyres.

Install puncture healing gunge such as 'Stan's No Tubes' inside tube.

If you're still getting punctures after all that I suggest you find religion."

Hope it helps.

This is my new ride http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-gb/bikes/model/dash.2/7844/45546/ it was it's first outing! The subway still has it's original tyres (they may need replacing now to be honest). I know local hedge cutting has got to take some of the blame with thorns, but dunno what yesterdays was with the new bike.

Depends on the bike, but all the time for commuting, you can always put nicer tyres on for the weekend
No, not commuting. But it is mostly country roads and cycle paths around here. I thought the rain would have washed the roads off by now.
