Some people like to show off what they've got. I don't think it's bad form unless music is blaring late at night. As for the pipe though, I thought you weren't allowed to smoke in cars anymore?
There's a car owner that comes past my house every morning with a really loud car and the blow off valve whistles really loudly. I quite like it, but would be annoying if after 10pm

Talking about Ford Mexicos etc.

I had a bit of an oddball in the 80's, a Ford Cortina Mexico.

It was a standard Cortina shell etc, but with a Mexico engine and sports upgrades.
I've googled to see if any info exists, but can't find anything, perhaps Ford just cobbled the bits together.

I remember going to get exhausts and brakes at the local exhaust/brake fitters. I'd tell them I needed a special exhaust, pads etc. "No, that's just a standard Cortina mate"

OK, so I'd open up the bonnet and tell them to look at the manifold.
