...at home. I never thoughts I'd say that!
The snow was a good few inches thick on my street, but it was just mildly slushy on the main roads nearby, so I thought I'd go for it. The first couple of miles weren't too bad (East Dunbartonshire). It was only once I got into Glasgow that I realised my mistake! Lots of slippy slush everywhere!
However, it got worse, heading in to Anniesland from Bearsden Road, coming downhill, I suddenly noticed that I didn't just have slush and snow to contend with, but a large diesel spill as well. It went all the way down the hill to Anniesland cross.
So there I was in the middle of moderate traffic, going downhill, with absolutely no chance of stopping!
There was a lot of swearing!
Then I noticed a traffic queue ahead as the road leveled out a bit. Queue, judicious use of the brakes. One mistake and I was off!
Luckily I managed to slow and stop in time. That was NOT fun.
I have of course reported the diesel. Take care out there, or take the car!
I must admit, I might be finding an alternative way of getting home.....
