I wish my bike had a blipper.

To use my bike I have to:
Get out of front door.
Unlock side gate.
Unlock garage door
Unlock bike.
Lock Garage.
Lock side gate.
Lock front door.
Ride off.

To use car I have to:
Get out of/lock front door
Blip car
Drive off.

Takes about ten minutes to get the bloody bike out, I wish it had a blipper.

Open inside door
Close inside door

Close & lock front door.
Ride off

To use my car.... oh yes... I don't drive

4) Walk outside
5) Close front door
6) Cycle off.

3) Re-lock the above.
4) "Blip" the garage door.
5) Extract bike and re-blip garage door.

You lot are lucky, I hear some people on here talk of cycle specific clothing, imagine how much time that would take up if you had to change clothes every time before and after using your bike.

You mean the flat cap. Yes, it does take a minute or so to adjust to the correct, slightly rakish angle.

Slippers off and sandals on too, I'm not brave enough to wear slippers out on the bike.

Depending on the bike I want to use, I either:

Leave flat, go downstairs, wheel bike out of main front door, close door behind me, ride off.

or

Do the above, then ride to the lock up 2 miles away, open lockup, etract trike, place bike in lockup, lock up lockup, ride off...

Take bike down from the rack
Load panniers (sorry)
Unlock front door
Put bike outside
Close Cupboard under the stairs
Close and lock front door
Wipe muck from the chainset off my leg (every day, without fail!)

4) Remove bicycle

To use car:

1) Try to persuade wife to let me use the car

Outrageous - think of all the weight you'd save if you did not have to carry so many keys !

No cycle ATM, and so using m/cycle for commute. This morning it was

1. put on wind stop thermals and 'neck tube'
2. put on leather suit (contortionist job as it is a snug fit) and boots
3. Rucksack and crash helmet on
4. front door & side gate lock/unlock
5. garage door unlock
6. chain to ground anchor at front of bike, and huge locking bar ground anchor thing at rear
7. bike out and start, lock garage
8. bike through side gate, lock gate
9. gloves on, and off I go

Car -

1. Get dresssed in normal clothes
2. pick up rucksack
3. Lock up house
4. bip car & start engine
5. drive off
