To use my bike I:

1) Go to hall
2) Pick up bike
3) Open front door
4) Walk outside
5) Close front door
6) Cycle off.
Same here, except mine is tucked away in the kitchen so I have to wheel/carry it thru front room
Could go out the back way but then I'd have to unlock the side gate and re-lock :headshake:

I have a similar front door / shed / gate routine.

During the winter months all this has to be done in the dark.

Unlock front door
Wheel bike number 1 or number 2 out (depending on weather)
Lock front door
Ride

or ... if i've driven the car to work instead

leave off at 5pm
drive to nearest seaside resort (22 miles)
Release straps and front fork clamp
Remove bike number 3 from zafira
Fit front wheel
Ride

One's manservant wheels one's bike out of one's garage, checks ones brakes and tyre pressures, puts a few drips of SAE 30 oil in ones SA hub and upon one's chain and ensures that's one's gentleman cycle is ready to ride. One's manservant will always cycle a few yards behind one's self in case sir gets a puncture.

Something like this automatic door opener might help, you could use the bike bell to activate it, though that does mean fitting a bell to your bike.

Perfect - I'll start the programming soon, though to be honest sometimes I come home from work and by the time I've got my coat off bike is mysteriously locked up and theirs a cup of tea half way made - i'm a bit spoilt like that.
