Here's a challenge that seems to be a bit more worthy. The Gaza Rubble Bucket Challenge.

Some of my British friends have been nominated here in Egypt. We usually get a few spots of rain a year. A big storm once every ten years, though they are becoming more frequent.

Don't give up the day job in favour of auditing :-)

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3296#.U_xL0UumC-V

Program Expenses
(Percent of the charity’s budget spent on the programs
and services it delivers)
72.4%
Administrative Expenses11.0%
Fundraising Expenses16.5%
There is a shocking amount of private covered expenses within that 72%

You should check the actual audit. They spent like 50k on banquets which was accounted under the services they provided

I don't know about ice bucket, but a few thousand folk had buckets of rain fall on them two Sundays ago for charity on the PRLS 100. Does that count?

Hardly any of it will actually go to research though. Looking through there published accounts there a bit of a scam. Only 7% donations go to research. Over 10% on admin and 18% on fund rasing. Then the rest on other activists which includes company cars etc but some other positive things like helping a select few patients and aftercare

We all know that 81.57% of the statistics that you state are made up on the spot.
