Thanks Classic

I was more concerned on Wednesday to get the wheels and brakes on the "right side " that I missed the most important item of fitting the tyres in the right rotational direction , Not having my phone with me was disconcerting and it had the reassembly photos in the memory .

thanks emma
At least you were honest, it was a mistake.. Nowt else.

Watch the forum The next projects are under way
I have just purchased a vinyl cutter and can now do all my own decals to make it easier for me .

and the results

cutvinyl.jpg

I have just done a competed rebuilds on a couple of Raleigh bikes and printed off the Decals for the Transportable trike .

Just ordered some more vinyl and the paper low tack tape to align the lettering .
I have just ordered some new software as the one I have been using cuts these odd squares in the vinyl whilst cutting the lettering , most of the time it doesn't matter but sometimes it ruins the decal.

Hi Folks .

Last week the ICT/cargo trike moved on to a new adventure with a new owner , having been transported to deepest, darkest Kent .With the thread pattern in the right direction :notworthy:.

It will be interesting to see and hear from Thomas who intends to fit a large box on the front of the cargo trike ..

Now I hope I can get on, and once I can clear enough space ,

( more bikes and trikes  to go,, including the Street e-fox , Raleigh 20 and the Locust )

We hope to build the E-Norseman , a one piece tadpole tandem :smooch: with e-assist ,
I have burnt the midnight oils and consumed vast amounts:cheers: of liquid refreshments
and have finished drawing out the plans at 12 foot long and just over 3 feet wide and 2 foot high ,
its specification includes , Disc brakes on all 3 wheels and Under Seat Steering and over 5 Bike chains for the transmission
and will be built on a spine of 50mm 16g ERW square box tubing with a 40mm cross boom .
Estimated weight will be just under 60kg as this is part of the EAPC regulations .

No Body :cycle: on the road :notworthy: will be able to miss :boxing: THIS project :wahhey:.

regards all

Emma,
EPAC regs are changing on 6th April so the weight limit is removed and also you can now legally use electric assist on quadricycles.

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/24/pdfs/uksi_20150024_en.pdf

Those ice cream trikes with the hinge inbetween the rider and the freezer are a stability liability. Its much better to have the pivot under the load area and in front of the front wheels axle line. This makes the trike 'self -centre' so if you take your hands off the handlebars the trike still steers straight ahead. If you take your hands off the other trike style you'll fall off in 5 seconds !

If I could afford it, I'd sell my cargo trike and buy one of these beauties, Made in England too

These new regulations will help the Electric bike /trike and quad riders , The removal of the weight limit will mean I no longer have to tow a battery trailer to be legal .........:bicycle:..

If I were to build another ICT then I would not use a pivot point instead I would build a "T" frame and fit kingpins / centre point steering like my tadpole trikes and be done with it or now maybe a pedal/electric quad camper .
Oh boy what have they opened up here !!!!!!!!!!

Short wheel base quad with a twin free wheel rear system driven by a midi drive will give 2wd with a similar idea that will keep the revs of the motor high

My two 20/20 e-trikes suffer from this low speed over current where the torque is non existent and the current is high .

Still all food for thought

I'd hold back from starting anything until the new rules come in. Just in case they don't apply to works already in progress.

Reckon you can wait a week?

I wont be doing anything now until after Easter,

I spent the middle of the day out on the trike and had Lunch near Shoreham Airport because of the wind there was nothing much full size in the air but there was a couple of model slope soarers on Mill Hill .

Over the last couple of days I have converted the green street E-Fox with a 36volt 10Ah LifePO4 battery and a 250 watt controller for the purist , and added a pedelec sensor . I have fitted the controller under the seat and the wiring tucks up nicely and out of the way . Its now limited to 15 mph and is very tame but then it's legal so that will be re advertised soon . I can't be bother to put up with the dog logs that some subscribers dish out .

Now I intend to do very little until next week .

It was more the speed at which you assemble them, once started, that I was thinking about.
