As it was a tad icy today, I mused on some youtubery and stumbled upon Jordon Tootoo. Here's a sample of his talent - apparently this is allowed (and commentated upon as you can hear! ) Look at the right hand column to see what a 'portfolio' of destruction this 'player' leaves in his wake.
And people like this? I have never been to an ice hockey match.

I have an Irish/Canadian colleague that has formed a high school ice hockey team at my school. Shem he didn't think ahead and get some other schools to do the same to give the team someone to play against.

He revels in the violence unleashed upon the rink.

I love to see passion in sport, it shows they are taking it seriously.

There are rules about fighting in ice-hockey, for instance any player who joins a fight already in progress gets suspended, there are time limits, no fighting just before the end of a match, and the instigator gets a longer penalty.
The fights are usually only between "enforcers" who get on the team as much for their punching skills as their playing, and normally they both agree to a fight first, either verbally or by body language.
The linesmen agree between themselves which player/fighter they are going to take control of and then go in to break up the fight together.

He's going to be disappointed when he finds out the Europeans don't allow what the rules quaintly refer to as "fisticuffs".

Mme. HF's uncle played for France in the 60s and turned pro. for a Canadian team, he didn't last long because it was too rough.

I like the sound of this. I could combine my skills of skating, hockey and boxing.

So on my team I would like Comedy Pilot, cos he has done martial arts.
Bent Mikey cos he can skate
Does Coruskate skate?
Magnatom has done Martial arts and is used to ice.
I think Dayvo can skate, can he?

How many more do I need to a team? I need to include at least one other lady.



Any suggestions for what to call the team? Take note that just cos you are first with your reply, does not mean you are successful.

Not sure how useful that is - can you skate backwards as well as forwards in a straight line?
