....if it was any windier this morning. Had to dig in hard into a 35-40mph headwind and my normal 25-30min commute turned into a 40min slog. Didn't make it any better as the a guy on the other side of the road smiled and waved as he flew past. Quick home tonight xx(

Don't bank on it. The wind will probably shift 180 degrees during the day so it'll be a headwind home again. xx(

Same here, 12 mins down on normal time. I have got a really open
bit of countryside and I was just able to get into double figures on that
stretch in the gusts:ohmy:

My uncle who's a keen cyclist once told me to treat riding in the wind the same as riding up a hill (I think he was on about gearing?) If so it was a bloody big hill this morning and I've never nearly rolled back down a hill!

I can cope with anything else but windy days leave me exhausted!

good thing about a hill, its mostly constant, where as a wind changes strength and direction pretty quickly - like the wind as they say lol

The wind was behind me on the way in this morning, which was nice, but I did get a good drenching by a couple of showers . The second one gave me some serious "I can't see where I'm going" type issues so I was just looking for a tree to hide under for a bit when it stopped. :o)

The wind seems to be easing a bit here, but I need to go home a different way anyway to pop in a couple of shops and my route home from there is much more sheltered under trees .. so with any luck I'll be hidden from what wind there is. Maybe.

I was actually a bit disappointed that the forecast winds of 30mph today did not materialise as I wanted to test myself.

No such luck here, still gale force and forecast for tomorrow is same again, still only goes to improving bike handling skills and fitness...so bring it on:biggrin:
