Rescued from the garden waste bin outside the flat.

I have no idea what it is or how to care for it.

Thanks folks - an image search from the suggestions confirms "velvet calathea" / "furry feather".

Doesn't look like a great candidate since it's evidently quite picky and I'm bloody awful at looking after things; but I'll try not to kill it.

If it starts to look worse for wear I'll maybe look to pass it on to someone more green-fingered locally :smile:

Well done for rescuing the poor thing!
A bigger pot, some fresh houseplant compost, a nice position next to a window, out of direct sun, give it a name ^_^
Not too much water, let it drink from the plate under the pot (how you call it???), a few drops of baby bio in the water from time to time.

There may have been a reason why you found it dumped next to the bins :laugh:
