Thanks for all the sympathy. Back at the fracture clinic today. Cast on the left hand for a month. Other hand just immobilised as a cast would have left me embarassingly helpless :headshake: Things are awkward enough as it is. Unlikely to be cycling again this year
Maz : reported to the roads dept today. Helmet did it's job, going by the scrapes - but then that's exactly the type of accident that bike helmets are designed for.
Goo : had to be diesel based on the suddenness of the upending (too warm for black ice) - and the smell lingering on my jacket.

Get a turbo ASAP then.... your casts will stink .... been there.... but for about 3-4 weeks - not nice. Expect your skin to be horrid after the cast's come off - they suck all moisture out..it's not pleasant......

Keep riding - on the turbo... it will take a bit to get back to normal...

Speedy recovery mate......

Sorry to hear of your crash:sad: Look after yourself. Better yet, get someone else to:smile:

Went down on a diesel spill myself some years back -- left turn at 40kph.

Worst road rash ever. Never forget the excruciating pain in the shower as I scrubbed grit out.
