Situation is.......
Its for a couple who are close relatives.
Married over 40 years (so pretty well have everything).
They married on a Christmas Eve so its a joint/double present.
They recently moved house to be back on the Wirral where they come from.
A max' of, say, £30.00 just to limit options.

I am hopeless in this sort of situation whereas some people seem to come up with great ideas.

A ruby red rose. Past experience tells me this goes down well. You could either buy the rose which is specifically named "Ruby Wedding" or "Ruby Anniversary" chose another red. Standard roses, grown on 4-5' stem work well.

Camellia "Ruby Wedding" would be an alternative.

You should be able to do this for well under £30.

Something personalised? For the house?
Just seen a cheeseboard advertised. Made of good wood......you can choose 'x' letters & words to be engraved into it eg names and wedding date etc. Comes with 2 cheese knives and one fork.

A couple who are close relatives? It may be too late, but a DNA kit could be useful in sorting out any possible weird mutations in their offspring later on.

Seriously now, when in doubt, buy booze. Anything else for 30 bucks will end up in a charity shop in due course. I've never seen unwanted booze in a charity shop, ever.
