Mrs Gti is encouraging me to spend a couple of days with Gti Junior having a cycling adventure. We both love riding our bikes on fresh, unfamiliar roads but don't want the trip to become a slog. I am thinking that an easy tour of the Lakes or North Wales would be fun; we would drop overnight stuff at a B&B somewhere then drive to the start, ride round lightweight by a longer route, stay the night, carry on back to the car then drive back to retrieve our kit. Alternatively make it linear and use a train to get back. Hardly green with the use of the car though. Any suggestions?
Edit: Since posting I've thought of using the Settle-Carlisle railway for a linear trip in great landscapes, quite near home. Only problem is that the wind is going to be south-westerly all weekend so we'd be better heading in a north-easterly direction then getting the train back.
