TV and radio coverage of sport would be much improved by not having hours of pointless punditry before and after the game/match/race. Just broadcast the event with decent commentary and move on to the next one.
And completely ban fan phone ins such as 606 on BBC 5Live.

Football - Football shall be reduced to a game of penalties. Same end result, but by cutting the pointless and boring "game" bit fans can get to the pub quicker.

A pleasant effect of this scheme is that it gives reduced opportunities for pundits to waste airtime talking patent bollards.

The gymnastic event where they run from one side of the mat to the other, somersaulting as they go.

Build whoppee cushions into the mat at random locations with an extra point scored for every hit.

This commentary is still unsurpassed

Long jump - land mines to be concealed in the sand at random distances.

If they did that for triple jumpers too that would be interesting when the jumper messed up on the first two stages and ran out at the end like they do!! It would help focus their minds on making the hop, skip part right before the last jump part.

But where will they find the time to dive and roll around the floor clutching their head like the opponent has elbowed them or something like that.

Perhaps after every missed penalty the footballer is allowed one dive and roll around until the ref gives the other side a yellow card and he gets to have another go.

PS I still think the best one was that world cup player who was waiting to take a corner and one of the other players wildly kicked the ball away and it accidentally hit the corner player on the other side on the leg or something harmless. That player then promptly fell to the ground holding his head like the ball hit him there. I still recall the sneaky peek from behind his hands to see if the Ref was going to give the other guy a yellow card or something. I swear I saw that sneaky peak. That was so cynical and so badly acted too.

However there are more who do similar. So many go down clutching sone body part that was never touched but not the part that was. It always made me wonder why they cannot have a review on such cheating and give a retrospective punishment. It is not good for the game.

PS if they do get hit on the body by the ball and go down clutching the head to get a card then after review while by the match official then perhaps a suitable punishment would be for a pro boxer to come on and hit him where he was clutching. Obviously with gloves on and the footballer wears an amateur boxing helmet, I am not a barbarian. If not that then his Mum is made to come out and clip him around the ears like a little naughty boy (not the messiah).
