If I get to 31st March without having ridden a bike this year...

Possible, but its going to hurt. As the rugby season comes to an end I'm slowly dragging myself back out on the bike. Up to 25 comfortable miles, targeting the 50 hilly miles of the Spires and Squires at the start of May.

I've only had a few outings this year due to various things. My first big ride after a couple of days of cycling to work was a 45 mile magical mystery tour around the mendips, followed by a 35 mile ride a couple of days later back in mid-February when the weather was nice. My first ride after a month lay-off from my motorbike accident was a 30 miler, although it was fairly flat along the bristol to bath railway path. You should be okay, although sore.

I finally have a bike that's stored at ground level, so I'm back riding after a few months break. Family commitments mean I'm limited to commuting but at least it's something.:okay:

The opinion of some on this forum is that as soon as you swing your leg over a bike you become a cyclist. Logically then, as soon as you dismount you cease to be one.
I cycled into Bristol on Tuesday. First ride for a looooong time. So you're not the only one.

Good to see you by the way. Don't be a stranger.
Same here.

Was ill and off bike from July to end of last year.

Sort of feeling better and managed three piddly 10-milers around the start of Feb' and not been out since.

Still feeling very tired and I am very heavy but determined to get out at the start of April... crikey, that's the day after tomorrow isn't it.:eek::eek:

Been doing quite a bit of running since October but very little cycling and none since December, will be starting soon... Am hoping the fitness is transferable, it probably won't be...

A half mara feels to my body roughly like a 100km ride. Trouble is I haven't run an HM since October. Flip side is five running sessions a week, min 5km per session is min 2.5 hours of running a week. What you can run/ride in a week you can run/ride in a day, or so they say.
