Correct me if I'm wrong, but "Save up to 50% off" does not sound right to me. Surely you are either saving 50%, OR Getting 50%off. TV adverts get muted in my house.

Movie is another Americanism which has crept in ...

Just as "bike" and "commute"-with the meaning of going to and from work-were USA in origin.

BBC weather forecasters referring to "cool weather" in the middle of winter, when what they really mean is "bl00dy cold weather". They all do it, so it must be BBC policy. To me, cool weather is what you get in the tropics when there is some relief from the incessant heat. We rarely get cool weather in the UK..
