I dunno if we're both past middle age: Just spread is probably accurate in my case.

I consider myself middle-aged at 57, though I'm sure that anybody under 30 probably thinks 57 is old!

These labels are pretty silly really. I know people who started acting middle-aged in their early 20s and probably acted old in their 40s. OTOH, the wife of my mum's cousin is in her 60s and came out mountain biking with us, and flies gliders so she certainly doesn't seem old!
