If you had done this, like Chris Froome...

Aha! you know an awful lot about snakes, rabbits and microwaves. It's Froome's childhood, not yours, he's 29.

Lets just say that I am a little older....

We were exhibiting the animals at London Zoo, Natural History Museum, Cambridge University and other places in 1970 !!!!!

I took over as the Senior Supervisor the "Mammals" section in 1973

I presented a talk at the Natural History Museum in 1974

To be honest I think its far more cunning to point to a rabbit and steel a childs sweets . Steeling the rabbit is the action of a fool .

Hmmmm.

Froome = hard ?

Would depend on how you measure hard I suppose.

Tenacious (in a cycling environment) possibly.

Stamina most of us could only dream of, definitely.

A great cyclist & worthy champion, yes.

Hard ?

Am I right in thinking he is from an upper middle class family, privately schooled.
I may be way off the mark (usually I am) & family status & upbringing might not have any influence whether a person might be hard or not, I just don't see him that way.

Is it possible Froome just wanted to make himself seem a little more interesting & proclaim himself as a bit naughty/mischievous & a tough kid ?

I bought Froome's book 8 or 10 days ago (only because it was heavily discounted & I had a £5 off voucher for Smiths) but I haven't read it yet as I am still to complete others.

Probably/maybe your post was a little 'tongue in cheek' & a bit of fun.
I don't wish to shout you down @Beno2, merely offer up a different opinion of the guy.

I have the utmost respect for the hardness of anyone who grows up in a country where there is stuff that wants to eat you. I think this comes from growing up in a country where the worst I could usually encounter on a day out as a kid was a horse, cow, sheep or possibly a big farm dog. Now the dog could be pretty scary but a. he was usually chained up (on a very long chain on days the farmer was in a bad mood!!) and b. I don't think the really wanted to eat me.
