He claims to have absolutely no idea where it is, have absolutely no idea when he last rode it and just looks vague when the conversation comes up.In the magazine rack?!
My son once left his at a football field - he forgot he'd gone out on it apparently. To be fair he'd probably smoked a joint in between though.
Could he have leaned it up outside a shop, or left it at a mates house? Hopefully the latter.
Possibly!is it in here?

He's didn't like the one he had, so he's "lost" it.He claims to have absolutely no idea where it is, have absolutely no idea when he last rode it and just looks vague when the conversation comes up.
We thought it had been 'lost' on purpose, because we's suggested he might like to try riding to school, but he's asked if he can ride my bike to school tomorrowWhats going on? Teenagers are complete nutters

Well, yes he has vaguely said before that he thinks his Mum may have hidden it. But he has gone back to the 'lost' bike theory now. Maybe you're right.@Sara_H much as I hate to say this knowing what a wonderful bountiful loving relationship you have with his considerate, reasonable, angelic mother.... but... you know she did not likey the bikey to school suggestion, perhaps she really did not likey it and so sold said bike in order to make it an impossibility without sons knowledge (or even with in collusion with bribery for giving pennies hence the vagueness) ?
Sorry I shall go and sit in the corner and ponder the evil thoughts my mind can have
