Everyone thought I was hardcore for cycling to my appointments today. Didn't tell them how much better it is than cycling in the rain.

I love cycling in the snow, definitely much better than rain. Rim brakes become slightly questionable in the deep snow though!

Yes, I was finding that today. Also the gear indexing was, erm....... interesting.:whistle:

Do you have you lower your tyre pressure or keep it the same. First time with MTB in the snow.

Yep, you'd preferably have your tire pressures as low as they can go without getting pinch punctures. I have mine around 20psi front and 25psi back (26x2.0 tires), which is quite low but works well for me.

Went out on the cross bike yesterday, hardly a car in sight and those I did see were going slower than me, came off a couple of times but nothing major. I love cycling in the snow for fun when you can choose some nice back roads or trails but hats off to all those hard nuts who still commute in the stuff !
