I had 2 today both drivers honking at me to get on the cycle path, but at 17 mph I aint going on the bike path.

Make a signal for them to pull over to discuss but they both declined, at which point I gave them both 2 fingers ! wrong I know but they piss me off.

Yeah I've done that and regretted it after.

That's the other comment we had on Saturday one driver stopped my mate and said at least he's sensible unlike me. My mate didn't know what he was talking about maybe because I overtake on the right.

Did you get told off for overtaking on the right and not on the left?

This incident scared the crap out of me....you can't hear it on the film, but when I caught the driver up he said "You don't overtake cars on the right".

What a prat and a crap excuse for his bad driving!

Thankfully I've not had anything like that for more than a few seconds.

There was a woman in a micra in front of me for much of my journey home last night. Every set of lights, it took her about five seconds after the lights turned green to start moving. I could only see the back of her head, but she seemed to be moving around a lot the whole time. Had plenty of opportunities to overtake her, but there's no way I wanted her behind me where I couldn't see what she might do next.

No idea how these people get, and keep, driving licenses.

It is amazing that so many drivers are convinced that the Highway Code says that cyclists must not ride two abreast, when it actually says cyclists should not ride more than two abreast. Total ignorance!

There is an important difference here if the HC says "must not" it is a legal requirement, but where it says "should", it is merely giving advice. ;)

I think I was about 10 abreast on Critical Mass last Friday .

I've never got round to it, but the highway code is a light little book, and I've wondered about carrying a copy to produce and make my point on the spot. Although I don't often get into that sort of conversation. For max effect, it would be good to have memorised the page numbers you were likely to need.

I once offered a driver to pass him at 20mph about 1ft away & he told me that I was insane to cycle that fast near a person. I told him thanks for making my point & rode off leaving him looking confused.

Wouldn't it be great if the police could round up these so called 'drivers' - take them to a race track and put them on bicycles and have car, lorries, vans and buses drive passed them in the manner that they did. I would love to see the video of that.

No, don't give them bikes to sit on. Tie them to wheelie office chairs, make them utterly powerless.

I quite agree, and it for that sort of reason I'd like to see cycling sessions included in driving tuition. So often, all it takes is a tiny bit of empathy. Many drivers are fine, a few are homicidally stupid, but I suspect most of the rest are just in a world of their own.

I do and I have (or rather have them marked with a sticky) ;) I've never had the chance to use it though.
