The encounter, if you can call it that, lasted maybe 5 seconds 6 at most.
I went to a Post Office to buy a book of stamps. No one around as I approached the window. Guy leaning on his side of the desk, phone to his ear, he sees me approach. Looks down to the counter.
I put my hands on the counter expecting him to look up and ask what I want, or at least acknowledge me.
He carries on staring at the counter STILL on his f******* phone.

I count to 10, stop at three because I have already lost my rag. In serious danger of committing some kind of illegal act I turn on my heels and walk away swearing out loudly in a profuse and filthy manner. (to myself in fact as no one else is there)
What a thick skinned, slack jawed, slobbish, uncouth, self centered, toss-pot.

AND, his glasses didn't suit him and what WAS he thinking wearing that jumper??

In the same way that Apple stores only employ people who are happy, Post Offices only employ people who are rude and miserable, didn't you know?

What makes people think they are more important in person than the person on the other end of the phone?? If there had been a queue and the guy on the counter had been talking to the person in front of you, would you have expected to tell them to wait whilst he served you as you are obviously more important??

I have banned myself from the local PO cos the bloke behind the counter is similarly a rude, self-important prick.

Perhaps he had an emergency at home, a wife going into labour, an elderly mother or father in difficulty or one of his children taken ill at school. Stop before you rant and take asecond to realise the world does nor revolve around you and your farking stamps you self centred toss pot. Somepeople, anyone would think he'd spat in your face. :-)

Grrrr.... It really annoys me when people answer the phone when they are supposed to be dealing with me! Of course, if they're already dealing with a phone customer they should just carry on.

Is this a real post ? Really ?
Just in case you are serious I'll tell you why I should be more important (at that moment) than whoever he was talking.I went into his shop to spend money, my money, in his business on his services, he is at work, serving, at the counter, sod all else to do. IF the call was so important he should at have been turned away from the counter.
At the very, very least he should have acknowledged my presence.

I renewed my passport in the post office this week, service was brilliant, the lady filled in the form and the NEXT DAY I got a text from HMPO saying the application had been received, I replied, "Thanks, your Maj!"
