All the more reasons to make sure there isnt a crash! Why would I purposely go out and get into a collision?I'd not be so complacent about your financial exposure during your first five years if I were you.
Whenever my dad is in the passenger seat of my mums car and we get cut off by a WVM, my dad always says that he would have just driven into the fool. However, when my dad is driving he does avoid collisions and doesnt just drive into people despite him saying so.
Saying that you will get into a collision is very different from actually doing so.
There is a college colleague of mine who had 3 years no claims on an Audi A4 2.0. He recently get into a scrape with another car on the way home and didnt want to go through the insurance because he would loose his NCB. He has now been forced to drive a Toyota Avensis because the premiums on the Audi have doubled. He wasnt very happy.
Both these stories hopefully get my point across. If I dont want to pay out of the nose when there is a collision, then I will avoid them at all costs. If I do everything to avoid a collision, then why would I be at fault? If I drive sensibly, irregularly, and dont act like a fool, then these hundreds of pounds of repairs that you mentioned will never appear.
